The Golf Course

Aphrodite Hills Golf Course provides a great golfing experience. The course occupies two plateaux overlooking the Mediterranean and is divided by a dramatic ravine. The spectacular course designed by Cabell Robinson was opened in 2002 and puts Cyprus firmly on the golfing map. Carved out of a forest of carob and olive trees, most holes have a view down to the sea. The natural topography is gentle, but there is enough movement to give each hole a distinct personality. The course features pot bunkers, generous fairways of lush Bermunda grass and large tiered greens of American creeping Bent grass. The greens are large making a generous target for approach shots. However, most of the greens are undulating. The rough is not irrigated. The par 3 7th hole has a gorge which seperates the tees from the green with a carry of about 130 meters. The course is 18 holes, Par 71/70 and covers 6299 meters.

Aphrodite Hills was rated number 1 golf course in Cyprus by Golf Digest Magazine (USA) in October 2003 and April 2005.

The final word goes to the course designer, Cabell Robinson:

'Aphrodite Hills is the culmination of my 35 years designing courses, and I rate it amongst my best work. But you, the golfer, will be the final judge. Above all, take in the views, the landscape and the tranquility. Too oftern we forget that golf is but a game - and one to be enjoyed."
